Access statement for Cedar Lodge.

Welcome
Cedar Lodge is a Cedar Chalet in a rural part of North Wales outside the villages of Llanfairtalhaiarn and Llansanan.
It is set in a rural quiet spot and has lovely views and lots of lovely walks around. We are in the process of having a website made and you are able to contact us via FarmStay UK.

Pre-arrival

o The nearest bus route in is Llansanan which is approx. 3 miles away.
o The nearest train station is in Abergele which is 6 miles away and there are many taxi firms in Abergele which you can find on the internet. Abergele Taxi's telephone number is 01745 823344.
o The nearest towns are Abergele which is 6 miles away and Denbigh which is 6 miles away. Both these towns have supermarket facilities as well as local shops.
o If you are travelling to us by public transport you will have to make your own arrangements to get to the chalet.
o The nearest shop-mobility shop is in Abergele on Rhuddlan Road.Tel: 01745 827 990.
o The nearest equipment hire shop is in Rhyl 155 High Street,Rhyl,Denbighshire,LL18 1UF,Tel: 01745 350665.
o Cedar Lodge premises/accommodation is only suitable for guests with mobility impairment/visual/hearing/impairment who are accompanied by an able bodied person (This is to ensure the safety of the guest)

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
o Cedar Lodge is off a lane which is accessed off of the B544.
o The gradient of the lane that takes you to the cabin location is greater than 20%.
o The entrance to cedar Lodge and its driveway is on the right hand side off this lane and is approached over a gravel path.
o Cedar Lodge has its own car parking facilities and has 3 parking spaces.
o It is not a pay and display and is the sole car park for Cedar Lodge.
o There is no assistance offered from the car park to the entrance of the chalet by means of rails , etc.
o The car park is at the bottom of the gravel drive that leads to the chalet.
o The car parking area is approx. 10 metres away from the front entrance to the chalet.
o The drive itself is a gravel drive and there are oak sleepers around the gravel which separates the drive from the grass area.
o There are no drop kerbs and there are no speed bumps or traffic calming measures on the drive or car park area.
o The gravel drive is on a slope.
o You are able to access the rear of the car once it is parked in the driveway.
o There is no porterage for the chalet.
o The route from the car park to the entrance of the chalet is over a gravel path which will access the front French window doors which are approached via 6 wooden steps with a hand rail on either side onto a verandah.
o To access the rear entrance you approach this via a slight slope which is gravelled and takes you over 2 stone flags which brings you to the porch door which is 25 inches wide. The porch entrance gives access to the rear door of the chalet.
o The porch area is for outdoor coats and shoes.
o None of the walkways are covered or have resting area's.
o There is an outside light at the back door entrance.
o The route to the entrance is on a slight slope. Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
o Approx.There are two entrances to the chalet as previously stated.
o To gain access to the front half glazed PVC French Doors is via 6 wooden steps leading up to the verandah.
o The steps have hand rails on either side.
o The back door has an outside light.
o There are no loop systems provided and there are no music facilities in the chalet.
o There is a small radio and a TV/DVD Player in the lounge.
o There is no telephone in the chalet.
o The lighting in the chalet is provided by ceiling lights, wall lamps and in the bedroom there are bedside lamps.
o There is a 3 seater sofa and one armchair in the lounge. Two dining chairs in the kitchen area. A bedroom stool in the bedroom and bathroom stool in the bathroom.
o On arrival you are given your own key to the chalet.
o The chalet is on one level and is open plan.
o There are doors into the bathroom and bedroom and these are manual opening/closing doors. Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
o There are no lift facilities into the chalet.
o There is no braille facilities or automatic doors in the chalet.
o There are no talking/audio facilities.
o There is no platform lift.
o There are no escalators.
o The lounge/bedroom areas have carpet and the kitchen/bathroom areas have wooden flooring.
o The French front doors are PVC and are half glazed. The windows are double glazed PVC windows throughout.
o The back door is half glazed PVC and the porch door is wood.
o There are no grab rails in the bathroom which has a WC, shower and basin..
o There is no bath in the bathroom.
o There are no corridors in the chalet as it is all open plan.
o All of the chalet is painted in an off white colour.
o There are no public toilets in or around the chalet.
o There is no working public telephone in or around the chalet or in the near vicinity. Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
o The lounge is an open plan area incorporating kitchen/dining area.
o There is also an electric faux wood burning fire in the fireplace which is remote controlled.
o The chalet is centrally heated.
o There are no lifts/stair lifts in the chalet as it is all on one level.
o There are no talking audio facilities in the chalet.
o There is a fire extinguisher and fire blanket located in the kitchen area.
o There are smoke alarms in the bedroom and lounge.
o The flooring in the lounge is carpet and the kitchen has a painted wooden floor with rugs.
o The bedroom is carpeted.
o The bathroom has a wooden floor with shower mat.
o There are no telephones in the lounge/kitchen area or in any part of the cabin.
o The lighting in the lounge is via ceiling lights and wall lights.
o Outside of the lounge are is a verandah area made of decking and there are steps leading down to the grass and gravelled drive and car parking area.
o The chalet has curtains/blinds throughout and the bathroom window has opaque glass.
o There are no ramp facilities in or out of the cabin.
o There are no grab rails inside or outside of the cabin. Additional Information
o There is a no smoking policy in the chalet and we only accept Guide Dogs.
o Water bowls are provided for the Guide Dogs.
o There is limited mobile phone networks in the area due to location however you are able to use the main house phone in an emergency.
o Mobile coverage is accessible at the top of the lane.
o All noise is to be kept to a minimum and guests will be asked to keep any overly loud noise down.
o There is a fridge in the kitchen area which has a freezer compartment.
o The main house telephone number is provided in the chalet with emergency telephone numbers.
